The School of Future Skills, working together with NIET, Greater Noida, is happy to present the Global Design Thinking Challenge, 'Segue 3.0 –  Sustainable Intelligence  This event is a worldwide platform that invites creative thinkers to participate in a project focused on solving real-world problems through teamwork and innovative ideas, using the power of design thinking.It will help students and professionals to create lasting solutions that match our goal of building a better, more stable future.

The Design Process: Segue 3.0

The Segue 3.0 challenge offers participants a unique opportunity to develop their ideas through five essential stages: Feel, Define, Divergence, Convergence, Communicate. By moving through these phases, participants will learn how to tackle real-world problems while building the skills needed to think critically and handle complex projects.

Impact and Global Goals

A major focus of Segue 3.0 is connecting new ideas with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 goals are a global plan to solve the world’s biggest issues by 2030. In this challenge, we encourage you to link your projects to one or more of these goals. This helps ensure your solutions are not just innovative but also have a meaningful impact on a global scale.

Objective

Hands-On Experience

Participants will gain practical experience applying design thinking principles to real-world challenges, enhancing their problem-solving skills.

New Solutions

This challenge pushes you to go beyond standard ideas. You will develop practical, creative projects designed to solve modern problems and create a meaningful, long-term impact on society.

Patrnership

You will have the opportunity to work with motivated individuals from many different fields. This focus on partnership helps you share diverse perspectives and build professional networking and teamwork skills.

Expert Advice

Experienced professionals will support you throughout the design thinking journey. They provide high-level feedback and industry tips to help you refine your concepts and turn them into professional-grade projects.

Global Visibility

Top-performing teams will receive formal awards and features in the media. This is an opportunity to showcase your talent to a worldwide audience and contribute to the global goal of a sustainable future.

Challenge Structure

 The Segue 3.0 challenge encompasses three steps, each tailored to exemplify a different phase of design thinking, culminating in a physical event that celebrates the power of innovation

Step 1: Team Registration: (fees for registration Rs 1000/ USD 20 per team)
In the initial step, teams will register under a chosen theme. This process encourages participants to focus on a specific domain, aligning their passion and skills with the challenge’s objectives. Note: Registration fees will be refunded if a team is selected for the Physical Event and participated at the nodal center.
Step 2: Proposal Submission (Feel, Define, Divergence)
Teams will submit their proposals, leveraging the feel stage/empathy, define the problem statement and Divergence of Ideas as stages of design thinking. Participants will demonstrate a deep understanding of the problem areas, exhibit empathy for affected communities, and clearly define the challenges they aim to address.
Step 3: Physical Event (Convergence, Communicate)
This is the heart of the challenge, where participants converge to apply the ideas including the prototype and test stages of design thinking as well communicate the solution effectively. Collaborative workshops, expert mentorship, and hands-on activities will refine ideas, facilitate the creation of prototypes, and foster iterative testing. Note: TA will be paid for Sleeper class to all participants and accommodation will also be provided to the participants.

The Segue 3.0 challenge recognizes outstanding efforts across several categories, celebrating the innovative and impactful solutions that participants create.

The Pioneer Award

This award is presented to the team that broke new ground, moving past traditional ideas to create a truly original solution. It celebrates those who explored fresh territory and used their creativity to find a path others hadn’t seen before. 

The Milestone Award

This award honours a solution that is built to last and makes a real difference in the world. It recognises a project that takes on an important problem in a way that truly changes things for the better, leaving a positive mark on society for years to come.

The Diversity Champion Award

This award celebrates a project that focuses on including everyone. It recognises a solution that works hard to meet the needs of different groups of people, making sure that no one is left behind and that everyone has an equal chance to benefit from the idea.
